GENERAL SURGERY

Rock Lake Veterinary Care prides itself on our surgical capabilities for both cats and dogs. Using top of the line equipment and state of the art surgery suites designated for general, oral, and orthopedic procedures, we are able to offer both routine, laparoscopic, and advanced options.

All surgeries require a pre-operative exam prior to the procedure to create an accurate and detailed care plan based on the patient's health status and to go over protocols, expectations, and prognosis. Each surgery is performed with the highest standard of care; pre-operative lab work, IV catheterization with fluids, general/local anesthesia, multi-parameter monitoring, pain medication, and preoperative nursing care during their stay.

All surgical procedures are performed in a sterile environment with negative pressure ventilation to reduce the risk of cross-contamination across the hospital at large. Anesthesia is closely monitored by a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician. Other technicians are available for further assistance when necessary during every procedure.
